Friday Pie-Day: S'more Pie

When one of my students gave me a pie recipe book from Taste of Home, this fun pie was the first we tried. The prep is straightforward, and it tastes great! I wouldn’t say it’s as rustic as a campfire s’more, but our family definitely loved it! So here is last February's "pie of the month."

Simple ingredients: graham cracker (in the form of the crust), chocolate filling (Nutella + some creams), and marshmallows (for the topping)!

It really could not be easier. Beat the creams together.

Add the Nutella. (Right about now it was smelling heavenly.) Then refrigerate. As always, the recipe said 3 hours, but I recommend 8 hours or overnight, just so it’s good and firm.

Right before you serve it, cover the top with mini marshmallows! They have to be pressed into the crust.

Then you broil it in the oven for just a minute or two – those marshmallows brown fast!

And voila! It tastes just like a s’more… but in pie form! What could be better?

Dreamy S’more Pie (recipe from Taste of Home)

1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened

1¼ cups heavy whipping cream

1 jar (13 oz.) Nutella

1 graham cracker crust (9 in.)

3 cups miniature marshmallows

  1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and cream until thickened. Add Nutella; beat just until combined. Spoon into crust. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours (overnight is best).
  2. Just before serving, top with marshmallows; press gently into filling. Broil 6 inches from heat for 1-2 minutes or until marshmallows are golden brown.
